The Leader of Croydon Council this week welcomed a firm commitment from Unibail-Rodamaco-Westfield to the Croydon project and the regeneration of the town centre as a flagship scheme for the company.

Croydon’s £1.4bn retail development moved another step closer last night as a council decision gave the green light for Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) to acquire the remaining land for the development.

The retail giant today (31 May) confirmed that they will open a new 165,000 sq ft, four-level John Lewis department store with a Waitrose supermarket on the ground floor in Croydon’s new world-class retail and leisure centre.
