With the announcement that the elections for the Mayor of London and London Assembly will go ahead on 6 May, residents are being asked to get their requests to vote by post in well before the deadline to avoid delays.
Registered voters in Croydon can now give feedback to a council-run consultation on a review of the borough’s polling districts for future local or national elections.
Plans to keep young people at the heart of local democracy and amplify youth voice in Croydon were given the go-ahead this week. Following the success of the borough’s first Young Mayor election last year – which saw 12,000 young people aged 11-18 head to the ballot boxes – the council has pledged to make the office permanent.
Croydon goes to the polls next week – Thursday 3 May – with electors choosing who their councillors will be for the next four years.
Candidates still have time to submit their application to become Croydon’s first ever Young Mayor before nominations close on Monday 5 Feb 2018.
Nominations are now open for London’s largest youth population to elect their first Young Mayor.
Residents across the borough will be exercising their democratic right in May as they vote for those who will be responsible for running the borough for the next four years.
